Buyer Beware

Many food labels can be confusing and new food label claims change regularly. If you come across a new phrase, be sure to take some time to do your own research so you can learn what it really means.

I've prepared a buffet of marketing tricks of the trade that when in a rush at the grocery store can be tricky to the hurried mind.

I have found that taking small steps towards wellness works for me. Over the years I've slowly researched and examined what foods work/don't work for my body. It's different for everyone. As they say; what's healthy for one may be poisonous for another.

I started by just reading the ingredients of packaged foods instead of reading the claims on the front. Just one item at a time, I've switched over to healthier choices.

It still amazes me that there are so many health claims allowed on not so healthy foods in our stores.

This guide offers a list of packaging claims that can trick your mind into thinking something is a good choice to grab at the grocery store, when it just may not be the best choice.

Have you ever really looked at the ingredients in your packaged food? Share in the comments below.
